Volvo S60 Polestar.
I had it on my bucket list for a while, I couldn't wait to drive it...
...then why am I not falling in love with it? It's fast, sure, but the ride is super harsh and the transmission doesn't understand the meaning of ''smooth drive'' : it's downshifting at the slightest pressure of the throttle, and it stays in the lower gears way too long.
I think I prefer the T6 Premium trim. It's only down 20 horsepower, but the ride is more refined, it's more comfortable...
However, you can't get it in that wonderful blue.
EDIT: My bad, you actually can get the S60 (or the sexy V60) in Rebel Blue, as a no-charge option.

Are you reviewing it or what?

I thought you could get the T6 in that blue? There's a mid spec diesel one on my street in that blue in fact.

That Polestar just got even less interesting.

yup!
I tend not to showoff all car I get on Oppo (they are not all as interesting as this one), but I have been reviewing cars on a Quebec car website for about a year now.

It also costs the same as an M3.

Give or take a few thousands, yeah. In this price range, it's basically nothing.
And it's (sadly) nowhere near as fun.
I'd be willing to put it as a direct competitor if it had 400+ HP, but right now I'm not sure if it's worth it. The V60 Polestar has the ''wagon advantage'', but even then...

The V60 is barely a wagon though. I checked out out at the LA Auto Show; the exaggerated slope on the roof severely cuts in to cargo space...it's severely impractical. I verified later that it only has a maximum of 45 cubic feet of cargo space, which is slightly less than a Mark 6 Golf and quite a bit less than a Mark VII
My conclusion is that if you want a V60 Polestar, save $24,000 and get a Mark VII Golf R. It will be quicker, more practical, more fun to drive, AND you can get it with a stick.

Wow, I had not realized the fricking GOLF was roomier than the V60...
The 3-series touring is also way bigger inside (54 cubic feet) for similar price.
other than the added rarity, I see no reason to recommend a Polestar.
